    Default Duck ID help

I came across this frame while going over some old files. I shot this frame in Northern California in the winter. Is this a juvenile Common Goldeneye? Thanks in advance.

Looks like a female common goldeneye to me, Doug. Young male should have the spot on its cheek showing (not solid white yet, but identifiable).

Hey Doug. I agree with Allen that this is definitely a female Common Goldeneye. First winter male would have the faint light marks on the cheek.

Thanks guys! I've got one more ID question that I'll be posting in the next day or two.
