Thought you might enjoy an image of Stan. More than 70 years as a cowboy and still at it. He rides better than he walks and can stay in the saddle as long as anyone he works with. They don't make em' any more. I feel the conversion used here particularly fit the man.
Fantastic conversion, Bill! This really shows off the rugged texture of the cowboy's life in the sun - you can see it written all over his face. I especially like how we can't really see his eyes - adds to the mystery of the man.
Hey Bill,
While I may not do people portraits as a rule.......I know a great one when I see it......you knocked this one out of the park. All the "character" comes through....and the B&W treatment puts it over the top!!!
Hi Bill, most everything has been said but I like how you positioned the subject with the upward angle of his jaw. The toning and texture further enhances the image...nice one!
We were at meeting concerning the upcoming season's pasture rotation and who would be riding when. Old Stan was just sitting listening and already knowing what was going to happen during the summer season. No pose just Stan.
The processing was to crank up the grain, use and inverse vignette, and crank up the exposure of the back ground (easy since it was pretty uniform in color) and of course sepia conversion.
I think I just got lucky, but thank you all.
