Took some shots around the Pala Indian Reservation on the way up to the Julian area.
I noticed at about 7:30am the sun came over the mountains and lit up the trees on this horse ranch, while the BG & FG stayed dimmer. The first day the horses were turned away, but came back about the same time the next day, and got lucky as this horse was in good position, facing towards me and looking up. Did some PS adjustments, and decided I liked it with a softer, painterly look - so went OOTB and added a drybrush filter.

Brendan, I may have tried to compose this w/ the horse a bit more out of the center, The lighting looks very nice and the effect is awesome! Great job w/ the filter. I might evict the telephone pole if it were mine. Sweet image and feel.

Thanks Denise, agree with suggestions. Re-cropped and added space to L side so horse isn't too close to center, and removed telephone pole.

I was thinking more like this. I had to move the horse w/ the marquee tool and do a quick clone. I thought that the tree on the left looked too centered in the repost and threw the whole comp. off.

That does look better, thank you very much. I'll have to remember to use the marquee tool in the future. Still learning my PS skills.

Brendan, love the light and the pose of the horse. I think Denise nailed the comp with the repost. I see you liked it too. Nice work!

Brendan, the lighting is gorgeous and I love the scene as a whole. Denise's repost really makes it perfect
