    Default Hello from Oregon

Hello, My name is Dan Kearl from Portland, Oregon.
I consider basically a newbie, having purchased a Nikon D3000 almost exactly one year ago and upgraded to the D7000 a month ago.
I think I am a better Landscape photographer as we have a lot of great scenery in the Northwest and I am an avid hiker/cyclist.
I have also been a birder for years and really enjoy taking photos of them but am not very good yet at all so I am here to learn and so far, the photos kind of humble and blow me away.
I will probably join as it seems like a conservationist minded group with a love of birds and the outdoors.
I have a lot to learn and just a 70-300 at the present time for birding.
I just try to get close!
I have posted a couple of images and I want to thank you for the comments I have received.

Dan, welcome to BPN! If learning is where you're at you're welcome to join us in the Eager to Learn forum where we try to answer questions, offer gentle critiques and explain things a little more indepth. Of course you're also welcome to post in any of the other forums as well!

Looking forward to seeing your work. Let me know if there's anything you need as far as help getting around the site.
