    20D, 1-400L @320mm, f6.3, 1/30s, ISO 1600, -2/3EC, tripod, MLU, remote cable.

    Nice image Steve. Nice composition and even room for the virtual feet. It looks as though it might have a slight magenta cast on my monitor (just calibrated). I like it!

    I like the colour of the grass. It arrests the vision and stops your eyes from wandering away to the background. I think the MLU helped in getting a sharp image.

    He is looking dead at you, so he knew you were there. Quite an accomplishment you got him. It looks almost 3 d ish.

    Thanks Todd. I don't have a calibrated monitor but I think I do see a slight cast in the deer now that you mention it.

    The image wouldn't have happened if I had to rely on me to hold the camera steady :)

    It was getting dark quickly (as it does in the fall in the mountains) and he was part of a large group (mostly does) crossing a field and heading towards the woods. He paused to watch me just long enough to get this one pic.
