Ian, nice interaction between the two birds! I think you missed the DOF on the front bird - the head and wings feel pretty soft. You've also got a bit of noise in the BG areas - might run a bit of NR with the birds masked out. And check your whites on the back bird's belly - something tells me you might have a little spike on the right side.

Composition is pretty strong, though. Nice, solid reflection and the muted colors throughout the image are gorgeous!

Great capture. I like the colors and composition. I agree with Julies comments.

Like the interaction here, but for me the reflection does not work because of the obstructed head of the second bird in the reflection. The image quality looks a bit down on what I would expect at that ISO on the 7D. Did you have to open up the exposure in processing or is it a very large crop?

Nice action/interaction, and I like the colors. I agree with Ben. Even though the reflection is a good one in principle, I don't think it helps the image, in part because of the obstructed head, and in part because the image gets very complex and my eye doesn't know where to go. I might be tempted to crop out the lower half and make a horizontal shot, unless the crop is too large to maintain IQ.

Thanks for all of the comments. Unfortunately, I'm afraid I did lose IQ with a significant crop (and really don't believe it would survive further crop of the reflections). Jules, I'll run another round of NR on the BG.
