I finally made my first trip to Bosque Del Apache...unfortunately I could only spend about a day and a half, but managed to get a few images I really liked. I hope to make it back real soon.

Hi Kurt, excellent capture in the early morning sun. Nice wing position, exposure and classic Bosque background. Catching the crane calling is a plus! I have only been to Bosque once but I had eight days to shoot there. Going back asap!

P.S. - I think you have a typo in your techs. Would the aperture be f/6.3?

Kurt, I only stopped by Avian for a minute-but saw this one w/ the calling pose. Excellent details and comp.

Well captured Kurt. Love the comp and pose. I might tone down the cheek area just a bit. Very well done.

Wonderful in-flight capture, Kurt! I agree with Todd, maybe tone down the cheek just a bit. Great colors, detail, and love your comp too! Hope to make it there someday myself!

BG is distinct enough to give a sense of place yet blurry enough not to compete with your crane. The open mouth is a plus. The hot cheek needs more work.

Terrific image I love the pose and composition. Agree regards the cheek but that is my only criticism.

Thanks for the comments and suggestions everyone. After looking at this again, I agree the whites on the head are a bit bright. They looked good on the histogram, but still think they are a tad too high. Thanks for the help!

Nice sharp eye, a tad hot in the cheek, really like the crop used, plenty of
flying room. All around very nice image.

Excellent capture, beautiful light, exp., colors, and comp. I think Todd may be right about the cheek being just a tad bright.
