Same corkscrew vine perch, different bird. Feeder cloned out of left side. Curious about pose/composition. C/C welcome.

    Gary:

The exposure, sharpness and detail of bird are excellent.
As much as I liked the vine in the other picture, it seems less effective to me here, mainly because of the birds pose, wish the big loop wasn't in front of him.

For no scientific reason, it bothers me just a bit that the bird is angled down. It is what they do, but somehow makes me feel out of kilter. Just me:p

    Bird itself is great.

    Cheers

    Randy

Again, as with the chickadee, the bird and BG are great. Branch is OK too this time, but I wish the bird's tail were a little less close to the top right corner.

Gary, technically this is excellent. Great exposure, details, etc. I am not really sure I like the downward angle very much though.

Techs look good Gary. Looks like 4 for 4 on the doward angle.

Make it 5 for 5 on the downward angle. I also would like a bit more space around the tail, but I think you have a very attractive and eye-catching image in any case! Nice work.

Downward angle doesn't bother me at all. This shot puts the viewer right in the game. Sure, the titmouse is larger than life size, but your good exposure and sharpness turn this shot into a study of a fast-moving little bird.

Excellent shot my only criticism is that he bird appears a little too large in the frame. The head down pose does not bother me at all, I assume this is a perfectly natural pose on such a perch.

    Gary,
Great shot with excellent detail and BG. I like the downward pose, it creates the sense of swooping in for another seed. The last loop near its beak is a little distracting but overall this is a terrific capture of a busy bird. Ann

Lovely sharp image Gary, with nice subtle light and good detail. I like the downward pose, often see birds in that position. Agree that the large loop in front of the bird is a little distracting.

Thanks for all of your input, everyone. You've given me a lot of ideas to consider. I kind of like posting images like this one and the chicadee--ones that have strengths and some weaknesses (depending on your viewpoints). I feel I learn more from these discussions than by just posting images I know are my best and are likely to elicit mostly a lot of ooohs and aaahs. I promise not to wear you down with too many of these "in between" images. :w Cheers all.

I actually like the pose, show's bird's curiosity.
More space above, otherwise I like this image a lot.
