    My attempt to show harsh winter conditions in Yellowstone.

    Canon 7D 100-400mm
    1/640 F8 ISO 800

    I think you got the message accross. Might try to lighten the eye just a bit. The eye is always tough on this beast.:(

    He does look cold. I amazes me as to what extreams these guys can survive, we were told by our snowcoach guide that it has to hit 35 below before the need extra caloric intake. Nice exposure and those eyes are tough ones.

    This really looks cold, must agree with Ken. Good exposure on the whites and well done on capturing these harsh conditions TFS.

    I agree, you definitely communicated the cold, harsh conditions with this image. It looks cold even for a big, wooly bison!

    You got your point across very well!
    IMO the composition is a little too tight. A little more room left, right and bottom would make this even stronger.

    Sid,

    With a bit of post-production tweaking this fine image could be even better. Imagine how much detail you could pull from the RAW file, with the repost being quickly done from your posted jpg.

    A bit of NIK magic did most of the work.

    I am off to YNP on Wed.
