Would have liked a touch more dof here for the tail, but there is not much leeway for that on most European winter days. I do have room for a slightly looser crop, but thought I would go for this now.

Ni9ce shot good detail as you say a little more dof would have been nice, and I also concur regarding the image being a little large in the frame.. Given the background I am not too sure why you set the exposure to + unless of course this is very nearly full frame?

I agree with Jonathan regarding the tight crop and dof. Otherwise it looks good to me. I enjoy the purple hue in the background.

    Hi Ben,
I agree with the others regarding crop , but must say, what a special bird! We have nothing quite like it here in Washington. Given the very low light and slow shutter speed, you really did well. Seem like our bush tits flit around very quickly, so its hard to get them to stay still for even a second.

I agree with the subject being a bit large in the frame, but with the face being very sharp I don't mind the lack of DOF for the tail one bit. I would try to tone down the pale area of the BG at bottom, and would darken the pupil. Nice colour rendition on this fellow!

What a cute little bird! If this is a backyard set up I'm sure you can get him/her on a smaller more delicate perch, very sharp, lovely image!

True, the tail isn't in focus, but a lot else is right about this photo, particularly the sharp and correctly exposed head.

Hi Ben, well done at that SS, sharp with good colour management.
