Taken a few days ago I already lightened the shadows on the wings and my angle wasn't the most ideal to the light.

Yet another strong one from you, James. Your work on the wings was carefully done. Good eye contact and the red eye is beautiful, but is there a little too much catchlight in there? I'm also wondering what is trailing out of the vole.

    James:

I think the symmetry of the shadows keeps them from being bothersome.
Good exposure, nice banking pose, excellent head position, prey item.

    Cheers

James, the light has fallen on the eye nicely, and I like the overall comp and placement of the kite. The trailing intestine adds interest. Well captured.

Love the spread wing pose and eye contact as allready mentioned. The prey also adds a lot more to the overall image.

I like the trailing entrails, I think it just adds to the image of the bird having just caught it's prey. The eye looks nice and sharp, and the bg is a nice uncluttered blue.
