    Default Red-necked Stint

Taken last week on a very overcast rainy day in between showers. I upped the techs as much as I could to get some detail in the bird. Then I adjusted highlights etc in PP to emphasize the whites.

I'ld be interested to know if this sort of image has an appeal or not.

    Mark:

The soft light has allowed you good detail in whites and darks, sharp, foot up pose.

Just enough catchlight to give the eye some life.

I might clean up the gray spots on the right edge of the frame.

I am a bit undecided about the small patch of green near his feet, but would leave it.

    Cheers

    Randy

Mark, it is very appealing to me. Agree with Randy about removing the dark smudges on the right.

I really like this. I would clean up the darker patches on the right though. Was the ground really sloping this much, the picture just feels like it is tipped a bit too much :)

Thanks for the feeback Ben. For the life of me I can't work out how I got this slopping when I was lying on the ground! Normally I would straighten an image like this, but I thought I'ld leave it as something different.

Sweet feather details here, Mark. I like the one foot up pose and the and the angled look works well for me.
I wonder how it might look if you desaturated the green stuff to keep the minimalistic feel of the image?

    Cool
