As this is my first post here at AIC forum I thought that I should start with something rather usual and not try to set my personal bar too high :w. This photo was taken a week ago and no, it’s not from Homer even thought circumstances here in WI are getting close to what I believe they can be in Alaska.

This is a vertical crop from a horizontal picture and I’m not sure about the composition. So please, if you have better ideas - let me know.

    Cheers,

    Mikko

Great job with the exposure and sharpness! My preference would be to give the bird a bit more room to fly into.

Good detail Mikko, and I like the raised wing position. Comp wise, this works, and I feel a normal horizontal would have worked too.

    Welcome to the AIC forum!

I also think this would work better as a landscape composition, since the framing seems a bit confining for the bird. I do like the exposure, raised wing position, and sharp details. In a perfect world, the head would be turned a bit more toward the camera.

Very nice, but I think I would crop a little off the bottom.
