I'm exposing my ignorance, Rob, but what's the bird?
I like the bird image itself, although there is a pink cast on the image on my monitor. I would be inclined to change to a horizontal crop, removing the lower inch or so of the rock. There is a halo around the rocks that I would remove.

Hi Terry, It is a picture of a Black and White warbler. The picture was taken a couple of years ago on South Padre Island, Texas - a hot spot for birders in the Spring.

A different perch for this species that is often seen climbing tree trunks nuthatch-like! Was it going for water? The light was indeed harsh and its angle not ideal (coming from behind the subject). I see you wrote fill-flash needed, but it would have to be strong enough to fill that shade. I imagine the halo is from tweaking the BG - and you missed a spot inside the rear toe:w I also agree with the pink cast to the whites of the plumage.

Refreshing to see a warbler after the snow dumping we got yesterday...

Had to use channel mixer in photoshop to remove color tinge.

Thanks, for the info, Rob - I would have never guessed. Beautiful bird!
