Hey Vivaldo, firstly, great timing for the approach, always more difficult than take offs. Secondly good job on those blacks, and just love the wingspan here. I also like the pastel coloured BG.

Wow, great timing and awesome wingspread. Beautiful BG! I'm not sure how much canvas you added at left, but I find there is too much there and not enough at right - the head looking towards the right is what makes me think this option would be good.

Did you go out with this type of image in mind that day? Is this a perch that you knew birds liked to use frequently?

Awesome capture. Love the wing spread. I am not sure about the perch though. I wish it was less dominating.

Awesome action captured . The focus in on the perch instead of the bird

Thanks for comments and suggestions it's appreciated.

Daniel this Drongo was flying to this perch all the time. He kept us entertained for about two hours. I pre focus on the back of the perch and waited for the Drongo to fly in. I then tried getting him on the take off but wasn't really successful.
The comp was a bit difficult as the birds landing angle is facing left and the head is turned towards the right. I don't really like square crops so decided on adding the canvas to the left hand side. :)

Great job with sharpness and detail in the blacks. The landing pose is terrific.

    Vivaldo:

I appreciate you dislike for a square crop, but the diagonal created by the wings, and the perch are so strong, that a more square crop would really work fine here, IMO.

Very well captured. The only thing I might try if it were mine, would be to lower the luminosity of the perch just a bit, it is a very strong element right now, and would be nice to place emphasis on the bird.

    Cheers

Randy am with you and don't disagree with suggestion. It's personal taste but do like the idea and it work very nicely. I have also toned down perch as suggested Tx. :)
    Thanks again for all comments.

    Vivaldo:

I think it gives the image even more impact cropped like this. Daniel may still want some on the right, but it works well for me in your repost. Perch looks better too.

    Cheers

I think the square crop looks great for this image. I also like the toned down perch.

P.S. Thanks for the additional info about the circumstances around the image :-)
