nice one Gus, but ya painted the eye almost dead center, which to me is a bit awkward for the comp.

but it is a beautiful eye....is that a wood boardwalk railing I see reflected

dave made me think of an idea. a landscape image thru the eye of the gator. you can easily see the boardwalk in his eye which is very cool.

i think i would crop it a bit different to get the eye back in the photo.

    take care.

Great shot Gus, very sharp. But I tend to agree with dave regarding the eye being in the middle of the shot.
But still a very good shot.!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi Gus another vote for moving the eye !!! One of the intersecting corners would do well !!

....... btw were you the last person to see the gator .... is the animal enjoying good health as we speak :):):)

    Hey Al,
I'm not a doctor, but the gator seems very healthy to me; as a matter of fact too healthy. Hey was probably waiting for me to fall off the boardwalk since I was bent over the railing.

Promise to give you a better angle next time around.:D:D

Always the best to you and Fabs,

    Gus...

    Gus,

With this type of image and if the gator is not moving, bracket the focusing. First the FG eye, then the top of head and then the BG eye - layer in PS and you will have more apparent DOF. If you can get away with a slower shutter, use a smaller aperture.
