I returned this week from 10 days at the coast, part of which was spent at the Wilderness National Park near George in the Western Cape. When we arrived there, I was delighted to find a wild plum tree right next to our bungalow bearing fruit, with a constant traffic of Knysna Touracos to and from the tree. I spent the next three days stalking this elusive species, and finally got the dream image I wanted on the third day:).
Excellent image Chris. What a bird! Perfect angle and wing position on the bird and very nice complimentary o.o.f. BG.
Well worth all the effort you obviously put into it, having had a lucky break with the location.
Fantastic bird and image! Those reds are so vivid (as posted they are clipped, but still very appealing). The eye may need a bit of PP work, but man congrats on this spectacular fligh image:)
Hi Chris, for me this image is just superb, great work. The use of fill flash helped with detail esp under the wings and body. I also like the eye contact TFS
Chris this is a fantastic image! These birds are so rarely seen flying in the open, and to see them means to see the beautiful colours of the primaries
excellent photo! one to surely tick off your list...
I bet your eyes lit up when you realised these guys were outside your bungalow window. Excellent inflight capture, and those reds really stand out. I like the curled up feet.
