    :)

    Hi

One of 1650 present at a WWT Martins Mere, Lancs UK
this is almost 1/3 of the population that visits the UK in winter, pretty spectacular site.

So from the hide I used Ev +1, SS 1/250, FL 220 x 1.4 with converter, 30M to subject, water cropped from Top and RHS f reported at 5.2 but I think 7.1 due to converter.ISO 1250

Noise reduction to whole image in CR5, then on BG only in PS5
Bird only sharpened and saturation up a wee bit, eye lightened with NAL and levels

    C & C welcome

Another whooper :) I will also join the party then.

A slightly lower angle would have been nice, although I know you were constrained by the hide.

A little more space, especially below would make for a more pleasing composition.

You seem to have got good detail in the whites.

Good critique by Ben - he said what I was going to say. The whites are nice and creamy and have good detail throughout. The HA is good and the overall image has a nice wintery feel to it. Keep in mind when cropping that you need to leave room for the virtual feet even when the neck is this long!

If this were my image I think I might clone out or soften the very dark patches in the water. You might also check the blacks on the swan's leg and see if you can bring any more detail in to them.

Overall, it's a lovely image. What a beautiful bird!

I like the repost a lot (but loved your swan post in avian).
