Default Female D/C Cormorant in Evening Flight

Shot this tonight down at the Saint Johns River in Jacksonville, Florida. I watched this beauty fish for a while and then take off down the river. I prefer to see some details in the evening shots I shoot but I know several others prefer a dark silhouette...those that prefer straight silhouettes-any particular reason? Thanks in advance for your comments and critiques.

Paul, I would go for a silhouette here, because there is not enough light to get details in the dark bird, and like this is somewhere in the middle. You could have added a lot of light for the bird, but that would have lost your pink ocean.
