    Default Frosty Leaf

I took this photo early today. I used Topaz Adjust first to pump up the saturation and contrast, then I use Fotosketcher and then on a duplicate layer I used Ps watercolor filter, with low opacity, and added a light texture as I didn't like the snow too much and masked back in the leaf. I liked the effect of the texture on the snow.

Nice work, Judy. I like the colors and effect on the leaf. The textured BG looks great. I think the composition could possibly use some work. The leaf feels too centered to me. I might place the leaf at more of a diagonal and add some more room to the left side.

Judy, this minimalist image comes together beautifully! I especially like the granular ice crystal look of the BG. Well executed!

Thanks Christopher. I like the position/crop and I couldn't repeat it after what all I did to it!

Hi Judy, love the details in the leaf and the way the snow turned out for you with this image. Very nicely done!

Judy the leaf and the textures are very nice...I really like what your technique did to the snow especially. I agree with Christopher that a leaf like this often looks more interesting if turned on a diagonal so you might hang on to that thought for the next one.

Any reason that there's a pink hue under the leaf? Is that intentional? I'm wondering if a hue adjustment could bring that more to either a green or brown color so it blends more naturally with the leaf?

Judy, I really like the soft pink tones and I'm hoping they are intentional. Beautifully processed and I like the composition and I know I would like a diagonal comp. also. So either way for me. I really like how the veins are so pronounced.

Thanks Jules! I am not quite sure why the shadow is so pink but I did try to get rid of the blue cast in the early stage of processing the image as I wanted it to be a bit warm. It looks more pink online than it Photoshop.

Thanks Denise. I will shoot or process the next one more on the diagonal! I did warm up the image considerably because it was in the shade and had a blue cast but I'm not sure why the shadow area is more pink, as I replied to Jules. I'm glad you like it.:o

Beautiful, Judy. I love the details and the texture you are able to bring out on the composition. TFS.

Like the detail and texture of leaf and snow. Nice use of filters and effects.
