    Default Hawk Flight At Montezuma Refuge, NY

    A few weeks ago Gail and I went to Montezuma Wild Life Refuge to try out her new 40D. She has little birds in flight experience so I tried my hand to test the camera..

    40D with 100-400 Hand held. Evaluative metering at ISO 200 with f8 and 1/2000. Cropped to about 50% of original.

    Well, I'm sure you liked your new toy, it seems to workfine for flights. Lots of detail in the feathers and great exposure, wish you had taken the image one second before so it was more coming at you.

    Nice, clean image with good detail (though there appears to be a halo around the bird). I agree with Fabs about timing of the image as the bird is now flying away from you.
