Northern Harrier
From a recent trip to Northern California, here's a Northern Harrier against a mountain BG.
Canon 1D Mark IV, 600mm, f/5.6, 1/2500, ISO 400, manual exposure, hand held

Excellent shot, I like the detail in the head and also the colours, the eye is pin sharp. Ok the tail isn't but I don't think it matters a jot, great shot.
Harriers always give me fits... This is very nice..
Doug, very nice indeed. We dont usually see non-sky BG with this angle. Works so well here. Loved the light and sharpness.
Well done Doug. Nice comp and sharp where needed.

Nice gliding action Doug. Like the wing spread and sharp head detail. Good to have some background in the frame with one of these.
Gorgeous background colors and the light accentuates his markings. On the fence about the crop as it feels sorta tight.
Wonderful lighting and sharpness, Doug! Those wings and eyes are something to behold.
Makes my eyes feel good :)

Good diving pose Doug, tack sharp, and the clouds add interest to the sky BG.
Sharp !! Great colours ! Brilliant image . Would also like to see this in a horizontal crop .
Very well captured beautiful bird. It is just a matter of personal taste but I would see an horizontal composition with some space ahead of the bird.

Sharp and nicely exposed with some nice details even in the shadows.
