Female Leopard cub, takes a well earned rest after jumping about in this tree for 15 minutes. Unfortunately terrible light.

Taken in Savute Marsh, Chobe National Park, Botswana, 3rd January 2011

500mm F4 IS hand-held from open game viewing vehicle

Kinda a cool image Ken. Light handled well and plenty sharp. My only problem is the need to ground the leopard, maybe clone in some wings:)(my attempt at internet humor). Very different, looking at this while typing I had a thought that perhaps adding a frame for presentatio may help. Overall I like the image, just has that weird feel to me.

Love the pose here, very cool... I know how tough any leopard image is to get.. Congrats on that.

It works for me Ken. I love the seated position. I like how you cropped it to make the most of the tree and minimize the sky.

Ken - He doesn't look so powerful up there. Great pose and comp, only thing missing is the 4th leg hanging over. Well done.

Thanks to everybody for your comments, it is not often you find a Leopard in a dead tree (no leaves:D:D).

Just a pity about the overcast conditions, I have seen Leopards in all sorts of comfy poses but none as strange as this.

    Rachel,

He is a she, I can see 4 legs although I will admit the 4th is mainly obscured

Ken, this pose beats all poses possible. As you know, leopards can make themselves comfortable in whatever surrounding they come across. Well spotted and captured.

Great image Ken, what a really funny pose. I would have used fill flash, just a suggestion as this would have helped give more detail in the sky.

Thanks Ken, I missed the part where you said female. I see the bit of the 4th leg too. :)

now this really is an interesting pose - would have loved to see how she got up from here :wh

nicely exposed and composed overall Ken...you handled the shoddy light well. how exactly did you crop, or is this FF vertical?

I agree with all the others; distinctive pose, skillfully presented. Here's a title: "I'm SO tired, I haven't slept a wink!"
