I do a little bit of bird shooting in the winter months at Brazos Bend SP every year just so I can get out in nature to relax. These little birds stay in the small lakes all year long and I try to get a few photos when they are close enough for me to shoot them with my old 75-300. This one was feeding fairly close to the shore so I sat down beside the trail with my camera and tripod to watch it dive and pop up several times. It stayed within range of my lens for a while which is unusual because they usually swim away from me. The morning sun was behind and to the left of me so I made a few photos before it finally moved out of range.

Nice look-back pose and warm light, Jim. IQ seems to be suffering a bit - was this a big crop? Wondering if a landscape crop to include more of the rings is an option?
Thanks for the comments Tony and Todd! It's about 50% in NX 2 so I guess that's pretty big huh?:D Actually the ripple reflection was what I really liked about the photo, but I'm a little weird sometimes.
