I posted a pair of these guys a little while ago, not sure if they are the same pair, as I captured this 'action' a couple of times during the morning. The BG in my previous post was a mixture of OOF foliage and water. In this, untouched, an all water BG. Taken in the Pilanesberg Nature reserve from the Mankwe hide.

Very nice capture - great timing. I would suggest you consider toning down the highlights in the whites just a little if this is possible, they appear just a little bright to me.

Stuart, very nice...terrific IQ. Loved the pose, the blue on the head and birds' angle.

Great job, Stu. Lovely poses, light and iridescence. Linear burn does a good job on the whites and shadow/highlight can open the darks a bit as would fill flash at capture. Burnt in the white on the perch and darkened the BG a little - small issues but worth a try. Lovely to see some different Mankwe birds.

Wonderful capture Stuart. Tony's re-post adresses my thoughts on the perch and head/wing area. Very well done.

Great action Stuart, good eye contact with both birds and I like the irridescence in the blues captured in this image.
