One of the more difficult shots I have had to make , with the bird flying towards me . Shot this with bean bag support from my car .

Hi Rakesh, shooting from a car makes it even more difficult. Sharp where it counts, and pops nicely from the BG. When shooting birds, my ISO is never less than 400, thus creating faster ss. I would liked to have seen this with 'frozen' wings.

I always like a incoming shot. I would have prefered the wings to be frozen, agree with a higher ISO. I might have also used 0.0EV exp. compensation, that way one gets more detail out of the black feathers and shaded head. Overall a beautiful image well done Radesh

Excellent shot - super focus, the title makes me look for the tail which is also 90% sharp - I really like it. Having seen the commenst regarding the wings I agree - but have to admit I like it as it is.

Rakesh, terrific head-on angle and BG. Loving the water droplets too.

Count me among the ones who would have liked sharp wings. Judging by the ISO, you intended it to be a blur perhaps. Otherwise, ISO 200 on that camera for action shots does not make sense. Even if there is a remote chance of getting an action shot( and it is never remote with birds :-) in good light, even on my 40D, I set the ISO to 320.

I also think a tad more room at right will be better.

Yeah ! Frozen wings would have been better . But this was something I wanted to get ....blurry wings . ISO 200 is something I rarely use , othe than when there is very good light . Most of my images are ISO 640 and above . Almost a full frame , except in hindsight , I think I could have used the traditional 6:4 crop instead of this squarish crop .

Very well done on getting this fast species in focus head-on. I like the blurry wings, the image could be slightly more saturated on my screen
