I did not even try to learn the different types of parrots...This was shot in Costa Rica with Nikon D3s + 400/2.8 VR + 1.4 TC at 1/500 f4 -1EV at 800iso.

I would guess at a brown hooded parrot...
I like the clean background and the clarity of the bird. I also like how it seems to been looking down being careful where it is walking, adding some character.
Sharp and sweet and a very nice image design. I would love it if the head were angled another degree or two towards us (with the bird still looking down at the branch).
All in all well done.
