First time to ever see a NHO and had a great time. Only thing that would have been nice was a bit of snow but these images have a different look than most posted because of the lack of it. Will be posting a few more of this beauty. Very rare visitor this close to home (just across the border).

Love the habitat and I assume it had just caught something? Love the eyes.

    Todd:

Congrats on the new one for you, well captured. Maybe you will be fortunate and get him in snow as well.

Sharp, well exposed, attentive pose, blood on bill.

I might consider a subtle vignette of the corners to downplay them and draw attention to the bird.

    Cheers, and good luck!

Marvelous capture, Todd! Great detail. I had to look up NHO :) First time I have seen one.
Love your exposure, sharpness, and setting. Congrats!

Congrats on your first encounter with such a cool bird! I might darken the entire BG just a little.
