    Default Hooptie Deux Semipalmated Plover

This image is also from last Saturday on board James Shadle's Hooptie Deux at Alafia Banks. While Artie went on a lone Spoonbill mission, James and myself kept on laying low in the mud and stayed with the shorebirds (not much else going on anyhow).

The little plovers did not get too close to the water, so it was difficult to get a clean shot of them.

Canon 800mm f/5.6L IS with the 1.4X II TC and the EOS-1D Mark IV. ISO 400. Evaluative metering: 1/800 sec. at f/8 set manually.

Cleaned up the beach, removed some highlights from the bill.

    Clemens:

The bird is very nice, well exposed, sharp, good DOF.

As a matter of personal taste, I would remove the strip of water below. It doesn't add IMO.

    Cheers

I agree with Randy's suggest on the water strip. I would also like to see more room in the rear of the tail.

"object" in mouth a nice plus.

Clemens I like the sharp focus, exposure, DOF and the food in the bill. I would echo Randy and Robert about the water as I find it distracting.

Randy, Robert and Stephen thanks for your remarks. Here is the repost with the water removed and a bit more room behind the tale.
    Thanks Clemens

    Clemens:

Repost is an improvement, keeps our visual attention on the bird better.

    Cheers
