    Default Piping Plover

This was shot during the holidays at Little Estero Lagoon. Unluckily for me the activity was very low that day with not a whole lot of birds to shoot. To get close to these guys with my 300 +1.4 TC I was lying flat on my belly in the mud you see in this picture. When I got back to the Holiday Inn a lady in the lobby reminded her little daughter why safety was important at the beach.LOL.

Interesting story Bhushan - you must have been a sight to solicit a comment from Mom.

I would like to see more room at the tail. A good proportion is twice as much in the front of the bird as behind it, so when I crop I give the rear enough room so it is not cropped and then double that in front.

Nice warm light. I am not seeing as much detail as I would expect - perhaps you need to revisit sharpening.

Head Turn: You have good light on the face and the bill and eye look sharp - my preference might be not so much of a turn.

    Keep them coming.

Bhushan I like the exposure, DOF and slightly raised left foot. I too would wish for more space for the tail.

Nice exposure, the crawling in the wet sand was worth it to get this low angle. I'ld clone out the second catchlight from the eye, but a very nice image.

Thank you guys for the cooments and detailed critique.

Robert, I can definitely add space behind the tail. This was a crop from the original which I now feel was better composed.

    Excellent low angle and composition.
