    Default Sundowner Sprint

It was late afternoon and we spotted the elephants in the distance. They must have been very thirsty because the came sprinting towards the waterhole. Image was taken at the main waterhole, Nxai Pan Botswana.
    Nikon D3s, 200-400, 200 mm, 1/400 sec at f7.1.

Nice image. Well seen and captured. Love the age/size ranges of ele's in this image. They are stiring up quite a bit of dust adding to the sense of motion. Perhaps a slight contrast boost on the ele's to give a bit more punch.

An excellent image Vivaldo, to have the whole herd in a line, all as individuals doing their own things is priceless. The surrounding colour is spot on juxtapose to the depth with the Elephants. You could try a hint more on the Elephants using Contrast as Todd has suggested or just a fraction in Selective colour on the neutrals/blacks, but personally, I am happy as presented.

    A very nice image indeed.

Absolutely love the shot as presented, Vivaldo! Already looked it up a bunch of times and am not bored....especially love the sense of intense motion of the elephants, probably due to the excitement of seeing water.

Very well seen and executed. Good work for the reasons mentioned above.

    Vivaldo,

I cannot recall ever seeing Elephants move to a waterhole in this sort of formation, usually they are in a long line stretching bacwards. I wonder if this is due to the relatively vegetation free surroundings ( no hidden surprises)

For this reason this is IMHO, a special moment beautifully captured

This is a great image. Amazing that you got them all with their heads up and in the same focal plane. The dust cloud adds to the image and conveys the run that you describe. Well done and congrats.

A very nice image and Steve K. summed it up pretty good for me as well. I like the darker lines in the FG and how they lead into the animals and then the clear sky.

Thanks for all comments it's Appreciated :) Morkel we went on our own, it's worth a visit. One needs a 4x4 as the road is very bad in some places, thick sand. I think you will enjoy this area as you get all the Kalahari animals, from gemsbok, springbok, sandgrouses, raptors and the list goes on and on :). The main waterhole is where you wait for game, didn't do alot of driving in the park.

Thanks Johann and Noelle. Noelle it was definitely superb seeing all these ele's running towards the waterhole. I must have taken over 500 pic. I was swapping camera's as the buffer got full, lots of fun :)
