The original image capture for this Mute Swan was taken at last light during Artie's Jamaica Bay IPT last year that I co-led. The colors on the water can be amazing. The sister image to this one won a Photo of the Day award.:)
I used Fotosketcher's free painting program to create the painted look.

Denise, this is absolutely gorgeous! perfect subject and base image for DAP. Love everything about it... low angle pose, color, light and the reflection. Excellent as always.

A knockout image, Denise! Beautiful BG and water color and texture, and the soft reflection puts this one over the top. Somehow this swan works well with the oil painting look, but in general I have not liked the smaller birds (hummers, etc.) against a oil canvas BG. But I can see this one as a very large matted print in a heavy gold frame hanging on a wall. Superb.

Very nice! I haven't gotten very good results with it but I haven't played with it much with the right subjects :o

    Denise,

This is a stunning image. Love the simplicity and overall color palette. I agree with Keith that this subject works well with the oil painting look.

Wow! A very lovely image, Denise! Love the subject and the fall colors are beautiful. As Keith said, the oil painting look works perfectly for it. Well done! :)
