Wow cool bird! Love the colors, OOF background, pose.

Lots of interesting growth on that perch. I can't decide if it's too distracting or not.

The thrill of discovery at seeing this bird would have been pleasurable enough; then the bird jumps onto this convenient perch. My adrenaline would have been rushing. A quick improvement could be some NR on the OOF BG. Less grain, more blur.

Ray, love the light and sharpness and the composition on this one. These birds are so cool!

For me, even though it has some nice lichens and moss on it, it's too bad that the perch is a big sawed off stump. I also see some cloning evidence at the bottom of the stump where it looks like you were removing a foreground leaf or something.

Apart from those issues though, I think it's a really nice portrait of this toucanet.

    Cheers,
    Greg Basco

It's a lovely shot I like the pose and the beautiful detail and colours..........if at all possible I would add something to the background - whilst I think it is technically an excellent image it doesn't look like a natural setting to me - hope this doesn't sound impolite it is not meant that way at all.

Raymond, excellent stuff. What a bird. Loved the soft jungle light a lot...among other things already mentioned. TFS.

Raymond, I might evict the piece of vegetation near the back leg. Beautiful sharp details and pose. Colors rock!

I like the colours and complimentary BG. I have never seen one totally out in the open. Great image Ray!

thanks to everyone for the kind comments, and very cool critique, much appreciated.

I just checked the raw file Greg, that mess in the LLHC is a mistake, I must have grabbed the cloning
tool by accident at some point, as there was no need for any cloning on this image.

    good eye though!

That's good, Ray. Because it's such a nice image of such a cool bird that the clone marks were a shame. Love the BG.

    Cheers,
    Greg
