Default Issue with ACR / CS5

Whenever I use the adjustment tool in Adobe RAW for more than a few spots, when I try to bring the photo into CS5, the computer tells me "Could not complete request because there is not enough memory (RAM)" and I am unable to open the picture in CS5. Any ideas on what is going on or how I could avoid this problem?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

How many gigs of ram are you running ? Do you have multiple applications open at the same time in addition to Adobe ?

You might need to change the settings for you scratch disc.

    Marin,

Also, under preferences in photoshop, set the amount of memory photoshop can use to a higher value, like 80% to 90% (if you don't have a lot of other things running when you run photoshop). The default amount of memory is typically around 50%. Memory is very low cost these days, so have at least 4 Gigabytes of RAM for an XP system is easy (XP can only use 3.5 GBytes). For a 64-bit OS, try for at least 6 GBytes of ram.

That's the two things I would have suggested.
