    Default Backyard Birding

Took some shots of some birds coming and going on a misty gloomy day.

    If looks could kill.

You do have an interesting stare from this cardinal....love the eyebrows!!! Backyard bird photography can be a lot of fun and great practice. Here's some suggestions and comments for this one.
    1) The bird is too large in the frame.....and you've cut off his tail.
    2) It's always nice to get a catchlight in the eye and have a head turn however, this image works with the direct stare and there was no chance of a catchlight without some flash.
    3) Please list the camera/lens and technical dats such as shutter speed, f/stop, and ISO........it often times gives us more information to make even better suggestions.

Yes Thank you, I will have to remember to include the exif and camera info. I cropped it a bit to try and show the "stare" a bit more. Thank you for the advice, much appreciated.
