    Default Red-shouldered Hawk

Red-shouldered Hawk gazing down at an albino squirrel. I waited & waited but the squirrel was lucky that day. C & C welcome:

    Ian,

A very difficult lighting situation made the BG very high in contrast but the hawk somewhat low in contrast. I would suggest the following.

Crop vertical, rule of thirds with the left vertical line coincident with the bird - that will eliminate a lot of the distracting BG.

Curves to increase contrast on the bird only.

Curves (reverse s-curve) to reduce contrast on the BG.
