Still messing about with the Gull images I made on Saturday ... this one using a big clone stamp, Topaz Adjust, Accented Edges and finally Invert.

    Hi Joel,

Interesting effect... composition is bold with impact. I feel the composition might be improved by removing the head of the last bird on the right and possibly cropping inward.

Joel, I like the composition and graphic look to this. I agree with Richard about the last bird. Nice work:)

Joel, I really like this look a lot. The design is simple yet there is some real interest to it. At first glance I thought to evict the rear head- but the more I look at it I wish that you could have completed that last bird just a little bit more. I think in design groups of three and five are sometimes more effective.:) Very creative and I wish it were mine!!

Very cool design! I like the slight changes to the repetitions.

This is a very dramatic graphic! Did you have to mask each bird individually to adjust the grays and blacks? That is very effective and really makes the image great! I do agree with others that the last partial head needs to be either more or less.

Thanks to all for the kind words.

I used the clone stamp to make the repititions with slightly different opacities after using topaz adjust to change the image to a black and white sketch. I used the healing brush to make some changes to each bird so they wouldn't be identical, then I used Invert which simply changed all the whites to black and vice versa.

I'll see what I can do about the last head on the right, thanks again

    Joel
