    Default Yucca Yodas

These soaptree yuccas cast long shadows in the late afternoon at White Sands National Monument, NM. PP with Fractalius followed by subtle contrast enhancements using HDR Efex Pro. Brings to mind a fuzzy pair of Yodas...

Keith, The filtering adds a bit of soft whimsy to these Yuccas. The sky and the rolling dunes make this composition extra special. I might evict the small white area at the bottom right edge if it were mine. Nicely done.:)

Keith, I like the effect you've gotten, especially in the sand ripples. I could see this as a pano even though the sky is lovely:)

Keith, very nice! I agree with Denise on the eviction of the area on the bottom frame edge but I'm also wondering if you don't have a slice more to add to the bottom to get the edge of the yuccas a little bit higher in the frame. It's not a big deal - they just feel a bit close to me to that bottom edge.

The shadows and the fract treatment really make this a nice image and the bright cheerful colors are warming me up while I wait for the snow to start falling...

I really like this whole composition. Colors are great, has a very watercolor feel. Just the right amount of effects. And yes, the Yucca look like yodas, or wookies.

Hi Keith, nice work on this. I like the bright colors and sunny feel. The horizon does feel a bit centered and I agree with the idea to take a little from the top - not much, just a bit. Nice work with the frac filter!

Really like what this did to the sky and the sand. The yuccas almost look unreal. Very nice!
