    A Pelagic Cormorant with some sort of rock fish - taken from the fishing
    pier at Port of Edmonds, Washington, 12/27/2010

    Canon 40D 400mm 5.6L 1/500s f5.6 ISO 800 AE, partial metering hand held in fairly dim but even light.

    Nice to be back after almost a year :)

    Welcome back. Great prey item, with neat drops on back.

    Obviously not an option from the boat, but a lower shooting angle would have been nice.

    I might consider cropping a bit to get him out of the center, so some off the bottom, bit from the right.

    The water makes the birds head look less sharp, but the fish and back are pretty good, so I know it is the water, not a focusing issue.

    Noce to see you back Terry. Nice action captured, agree with the lower angle but as you mentioned it could not be helped. Will be passing through your area in the early am, going to join the Hawk Owl circus up north for the day.
