Clemens van der Werf (see "Mystery Photographer and Experience Level Revealed here) and I photographed with James Shadle yesterday morning on an early season Hooptie Deux trip to Tampa Bay's Alafia Banks. A good time was had by all and I got to photograph the season's first spoonbill.
This Black Vulture image was created with the tripod-mounted Canon 800mm f/5.6L IS lens and the EOS-1D Mark IV. ISO 400. Evaluative metering +2/3 off the blue sky: 1/1600 at f/8 set manually.
To see the next frame in the sequence (that was created in the same 1/100 sec.) and to learn which focusing pattern I used see today's blog post here.
Don't be shy; all comments welcome.
