This is from my original series of the AA. Once again, soaked in mud after capturing this image. Lets hope it was worth it :).

    Taken @ f/5.6, 1/4000, and at iso:400

Well worth the effort !!!! I like the pose and low angle does make a difference !!! Sure wish you had a cleaner bg The dark merging with the body does detract from the image Might consider a small curves adjustment for increasing contrasts !!!! Excellent image !!!1

another nice one Brian, the low angle sure makes these special.
You and Blake have been staying plenty wet these days.

Would sharpen up that little water drop.....seems hard to get a catchlight on these guys without ff

    edit:
I'm quite interested in the input you get here.......what about overall softer instead of more contrast?
Rotated a wee bit cw also

Very nice image, Brian. I think I would get down in the mud for one of these guys. I like what Dave has done to emphasize the water drop. I also like what he has done to the blacks/dark browns of the bird, but the whites now seem too bleached out for my taste.

This is a beautiful image. I agree with Al that a contrast curve might improve the photo a bit. I do think it was worth lying in the mud!

    Thanks Guys :)
BTW, what kind of sharpening do you use to get that drop looking so much better?

Brian, you could do a mini selection of the drop and apply USM, but I just did a quick
couple passovers with the sharpening tool/brush in PS at about 15%
