Gorgeous bird and background!
Given the body angle, just a tad more of a head turn would have been nice for my taste.
Beautiful bird captured well. I like the BG but wish the dark spot behind the bird was not there.
Giulio, I love these species and you captured it really well. The previous posters noted a couple of points, but I think it's still quite nice. I really like the slight backlight and soft light.
I'm going to be in Adolfo's garden at the end of this month, and your pictures are making me anxious to get back!
Cheers,
Greg Basco
The problem I faced with shooting from Adolfo's garden (besides the neighbor playing at maximum volume the Spanish hit parade, smoke from burning garbage, chickens, dogs and mosquitos... :)) was to keep enough depth of field and/or been able to freeze actions. You can get really close to the birds but there is not much light, even with flash and those small birds are really fast.
Cheers, Giulio
I agree about the dark spot, love the colors and great detail.

What a beautiful species. Lovely colours, good details in the low light and a nice BG to go with it. Too bad about the dark spot though.

Rohan

Hi, Giulio. Ah, yes, isn't it wonderful shooting in the rainforest? :) That really made me laugh. I understand the conditions, and I think you did really well dealing with them.
Cheers,
Greg
Great detail and nice BG, dark spot doesn't bother me...But a bit of head turn would have been better for my taste!
Giulio, that comment almost made me choke on my coffee. That's hilarious. I had the same thing happen to me in Panama one morning but the music originated from a landscape crew next door. Otherwise, if you wanted to, it's very easy to "fix" that brown OOF object. On the subject of BG, there is a dust spot in the URC I am seeing. Positives are I like the sharpness and colors of the bird and it's a great species. :)
Hey, Bryan. Same thing almost happened to me with my coffee. Spanish hit parade -- thanks again, Giulio!
Cheers,
Greg
Hey Giulio, the bird looks lovely as does most of the BG. I would consider trying to even out the BG area that's towards the UR....the dark spot is somewhat distracting and that entire area looks a bit dark. Overall, I really like the shot! :)
