The flock of Brown headed Gulls allowed me quite close . A morning jogger made them skittish and allowed me to make this one , when they were just about to fly .

Excellent pre-take off posture, and I like the exposure. The legs and beak stand out very well, and of course, your low perspective puts this over the top.

I echo the previous comments. Running pose, sand/water kicked up, exposure. Excellent image.

Rakesh, you have nicely captured the gull taking off. I like the raised wings and the water splash. It is also good that the small incoming wave did not merge with the upper body. TFS from a fellow Mumbaite.:)

Very nice low angle perspective. Good launching pose and water splashing action. I'd be tempted to slightly tone down the whitest whites on the flank. An option would be to eliminate the upper half-lenght wavelet (if your personal processing ethics allow it), and as posted I could see half an inch less room below and the equivalent more above. Overall well done, a very apealing image!!

All critiques have been superb and Daniel's suggestions are very informative. You already know how much i like this image so not much to say there.

Rakesh, loved this one a lot...so many good things here...the low angle, gull parallel, light, exposure, both feet in air, the small splash...excellent stuff. Compositionally, I'd prefer a tad crop from bottom and tad more canvas on top....In other words, bird a bit lower in the frame.
