Was fortunate to see the bobcat who resides at RGV in Big Bend, on two separate days during out Thanksgiving trip to Big Bend. He was devoting his time keeping an eye on us and on a coyote who was just down the road. I was standing in the bed of my truck, resting on a bean bag. D 700 500 f/4 AFS, ISO 800 1/100 f/6.3 PP in LR3 then CS4

Nice pose he gave you Mack. Cat could go just a bit brighter and a bit of sharpening looks to be in order. I might crop this into a vert if mine. Nice sighting of one we don't get to see too often in the wild.

Thanks Todd. I do like it more with the vertical crop. This was my first try at CS5. I did sharpen and reduce noise in ACR.

Like the pose and the vert. crop. Agree it could be just a little brighter.

    Mack,

You could make the cat brighter, but with the bright BG, its shade looks appropriate. I like the vertical crop too.

I like the exposure in the original better for the same reason Robert stated but agree re vertical. The repost also seems to have a magenta cast. JR

Hi Mack, format wise I like the OP, but agree, the repost does have a reddish cast to it, looks even more when viewed in PS IMHO.

If the cast is taken out, the animal lightened a fraction with some more selective sharpening and a small re crop could well bring out the potential.

Nice capture Mack. It's always exciting for me to see a bobcat. Did you get any when he wasn't in shade?
