    Great IQ Chris, and tack sharp too. I like the landing pose. How is the action there at this time of the year?

    Great pose and exposure Chris, some here may comment on the the fact that the beak and the wing merge, but it doesn't bug me...This is one fine piece of photography!

    Chris:

    Sharp,well exposed, shadow adds, yes, would prefer no bill merge with wing.

    Because of his flight path, might consider a sliver more room below.

    Not the type of BG I normally see with night herons.

    Unusual to get them in the open like this. Nicely exposed in that bright light. Great underwing detail and love the shadow. Agree with a little more room below
