    Default High Flyin Pelicans

I had this photo of brown pelican I took that was not the greatest as far as light, but it looked like it was just suspended in empty blue sky. It looked almost painted and kind of surreal. To add to that, I took a photo today of clouds in the sky, flipped it upside down to give the apperance the pelican was flying way above the clouds. Then for fun and to add some depth added & scaled two more pelicans. C & C welcome & appreciated

I like the three sizes; they look like planes flying in formation. And I like the upside down clouds.

Hi Brendan, this is very cool and I like your OOTB thinking! They do like planes flying in formation like that and the clouds work for me too. Where did you make the original capture?

Brendan, I added the "weekly theme" prefix to your post, as it definitely qualifies for the theme contest!

I love the 3 pelicans in formation and the background clouds looks perfect. Very creative!

Thanks Art, Kerry, and Judy for looking and comments,

Arthur, not related to Lamont Dozier (at least not directly), but Holland-Dozier-Holland are considered to be one of the best pop music writing trio of all time, and did some great classics, such as: "How Sweet it is to be Loved by You". I love many kinds of music, but do dig some good classic R&B once in a while.

Kerry, the photo was from my very first shoot of the Brown Pelicans down at La Jolla Dec. 29th, I posted a couple others in other the forums, but I started late and the light was harsh. So I plan to re-shoot later this month. Thanks for adding it to theme.

Brendan, Nice job on creating the flight formation. The clouds look cool and I like the way you made them different sizes. Well done.:)

Very creative, indeed! Adding the extra birds was a great idea and the formation looks perfect!

The downside is that I now have The U.S. Air Force song stuck in my head. :D

Very creative, Brendan! They do look like planes in formation, and the sky really adds to that feel. :) Well done!

Thanks people, I had fun making it. That's funny Ken, I didn't even think about military jets when putting this together, just liked how the pelicans looked flying up above the clouds.
Now I'm thinking, the pelican poop bombers are on the way! :p

Ditto all of the above. When I first opened the forum and saw the tiny thumbnail, I thought, why is there a photo of jets in formation in a nature forum? Then when I opened it up and saw the pelicans, I thought, wow, so creative. Great idea about flipping the sky, too.

Like the position of the pelicans. Great sky and clouds in the background.
