I like the low angle and the strong intension with the eye contact and the "rised up" pose and the tongue out. Very nice colors as well with the sand and grean in the BG. I find the closest flower a bit distracting. Makes me feel like the image isn't straight.

Love everything about this Dale. Great exposure, color and sharpness. Killer bg and love the darting tongue. Was this from the ICF?
Congrats on your finish by the way.

Hi Dale, a very 'striking' image. :D

I like the strong & vibrant colours and pose on this one, but wonder if there needs to be a bit more 'separation' for the head, as to me it seems to get lost a little set against the body. Never photographing these animals I can only admire your nerve Dale

Great image! The BG and his pose are excellent. I do agree with Steve and wish there was more separation from the head and body.

OMG... look at that tongue..... yikes!! :o

Excellent colors, detail, and timing. I don't think it could be improved upon.

    Dale,

I love the detail in the scales, the tongue and the coiled posture. I do agree on tha head and body separation and find the OOF yellow flowers in the FG somewhat distracting.

Dale - great detail and pose with tongue captured. I am in the camp with Steve that I would prefer a little more separation.

Love the sharpness and details, and the overall color tone. The flippin' tongue is a plus.
Btw, is this the posture/re-coiling of this snake before a strike?

Fantastic colors and pose. Sharpness is great too. Love that one can see the rattler in the background. Agree that the yellow OOF flower in the LLC is a bit dominating.

What's the strike distance of rattlers by the way? JR

Experts say the maximum striking distance is about 1/2 the body length but I like to be a bit further that that

LOL. What a great expression - I may borrow it on occasion. JR
