    Red-shouldered eating a snake (I believe a Banded water snake ).
    Image made at Green Cay wetlands, Florida.

    Subject was Back lit, taken around noon time.

    Canon 40D, 500mm, 1.4TC
    Aperture priority, 1/500", F7.1, ISO 200, 700mm, EV+2/3

    Excellent sighting!! The bad news is the hawk's head angle is not ideal. Even worse news is the snake's head angle...:D

    Nice image Ray. These birds like to give their backs to you most of the time. I have one similar but not this good.
