    I followed this Bewick's Swan as it came in to land. Out of the series of shots I felt this had the most impact.

    Canon EOS 7D, EF300mm f/2.8L IS USM, 1.4x TC, Gitzo GT3531 Mountaineer tripod, Gitzo GH3780QR ballhead

    1/1250 sec at f/5.6; ISO 400

    Slight crop, levels, nr, sharpness (LR3; PSE9)

    Hello John, the whites look real good to me. I like the angle and the background. If you cropped up just a sliver

    from the bottom to remove the brightest part of the foreground I think it helps. Looks good.

    Great flight pose with head up and dangling feet. Good details in the whites. I might try to tone down the highlights in the water. I really like this one.

    I really like his landing pose here, angle in frame, good view of head and distinctive yellow bill.
    Nice job on the whites.

    He is so dominant in the image that I don't find the foreground particularly bothersome, but it certainly wouldn't hurt to darken some of the highlights in the water a bit.
