Taken midday 1-1-11 at Ridgefield NWR. A slight overcast day. D2xs, 80-400mm vr at 370mm, f/5.6, 1/1000sec, +.33, iso 400 matrix metering, aperature priority, wb cloudy. vr off bean bag in truck window. Egret was in tall grass tried to get a unobstructed view. I went with f5.6 for less dof, went +0.33 didn't blow any highlights (blinkies) or should I went -0.33 to hold detail better? Processed in ACR CS5, s/h to get some feather detail back- mabe to far? comments and suggestions welcome, thanks for looking.

good exposure; concerning composition a little room on the right side and some sharpen in order to have more detail in the feather

Nice exposure, good details in the whites. Nice HA and I like the feathers on the beak. The BG turned out nice but I would get rid of the gray spots, one in front of the beak and one in urc. The OOF grass forming the v on his body bothers me some.
